Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and we’re getting ready for a delicious day off from the gym! Wheel House will be open every day next week except for Thanksgiving Day. There are some changes to the regular schedule, so please take note. Check out the updated schedule HERE.

In other news, a big welcome to some rockstar teachers who recently joined the Wheel House team: Nan, Jordanna, Lizzie, and Aemar!

*Currently a J Bodyworks Apprentice, Nan brings a deep knowledge of sports injury rehabilitation to the team. She will be teaching on Thursdays at 11:55 AM (WH Rhythm – 45 mins) and on Fridays at 3:30 PM (WH Smart Bell Rhythm – 45 mins.)

*Jordanna is a New York and California State licensed acupuncturist, nationally certified Chinese herbal therapist, associate Forrest Yoga instructor (RYT-200) and certified Authentic Pilates instructor specializing in pain management, injury recovery & prevention and emotional balancing. She will be teaching a Pilates Athlete class on Wednesdays at 5:15 PM. Here’s the class description:

This challenging pilates class takes you beyond the classical mat, incorporating core strengthening, dynamic movement sequencing, lengthening and muscle toning.  With plenty of hands on personal attention to ensure safe, effective alignment, this open-level class will bring your practice to the next level with a better understanding of optimal form and precision, (rock solid abs included).

*Lizzie will be teaching WH Yoga Flow and WH Yoga Power Flow – come get your asana on with Lizzie!

Lastly, we’d like to share some inspiring words from Wheel House member Nancy Floyd. Keeping up with a personal fitness routine can be challenging at times, especially as injuries slow us down. Nancy reminds us never to give up on the journey:

“I’ve been athletic all my life. In the past few years, I’ve been plagued by injuries and finally surgery. Even though I worked out 4-5 days/week during each recovery, I  was unhappy with my conditioning. I  lost a lot of my hard earned muscle tone and gained unwanted weight.  Then came Wheelhouse SF. I tried out a few classes and then joined in July. Every week I’ve  put myself through a different routine of yoga, spinning, abs, and sculpting. Its never boring. When I joined,  I set a goal  of losing 11 inches by my birthday in late September. I came darn close. I lost 10.5 inches (now its 11.5 inches) and I feel great. To the instructors – you are amazing. You motivate, you inspire and you care. Everything from helping me, as a “newbie”  with yoga moves to reminding all of us that “this is not a competition”.  I’m now in the 11 months leading up to my  60th birthday. I know that I will not only look and feel great but  I will have enjoyed the journey getting there. A special thanks to (the indefatigable) Carl and Joseph. “
