New Instructor Insight – Kelsey

InstructorSeries

Kesley is a new instructor at Wheel House and, if you’ve not had the pleasure of meeting her, you can find her on the schedule for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays teaching TRX and ABS. She brings with her a wealth of experience and sometimes drops in an occasional ‘Aussie‘ accent.

I managed to grab some time and sit down with her to ask a few questions so that we can all get to know her a little better!

Outside of the studio where can we find you on a typical day?

I love to be outside. Whether I’m being active and hiking, cycling or running, or whether I’m just sitting and having some food in the sun, I love making the most of the beautiful weather and environment we have in the Bay Area.

Most instructors also have a regular daytime job if fitness is not their main profession, do you fall into that?

I used to work within finance but left that to become a full time personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I am also a grad student for two more semesters (not that I’m counting!)

If you could travel one place in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?

Africa. I LOVE lions and cannot wait to see them in the wild.

What’s your go to favorite food?

Mexican all the way. Once you guac you can’t stop!

Your go to recipe to make when in a hurry to entertain a crowd?

Tacos. Veggies, beans, cilantro, guacamole, salsa. They can do the rest!

Favorite TRX move?

Tricep press, you will feel the burn!

What people can expect from your class?

I design my classes to move quickly and build intensity. I provide progressions and regressions for all fitness levels. So come along and be prepared to sweat and give it all you got!

Where are you from? What brought you to San Francisco?

I was born and raised in the Napa Valley, lived and studied in Santa Barbara and I’ve recently returned to the Bay Area from Brisbane, Australia where I was living for the past 5 years. I am very excited to live and work in such a great city.

What 3 things would we nearly always find in your gym bag?

My water bottle, hand lotion and chapstick. Who wants to work out with dry skin and chapped lips?

Biggest life changing moment so far?

Traveling through South America and Europe for 5 months by myself when I was 22 years old. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to do that now!

Why should a member take your class?

Because I make using the TRX and bodyweight exercises challenging and fun! I want to get to know you so I can find your strengths and push you to get better. I will also be your biggest cheerleader if you want to talk to me about your goals.

You can sign up for one of Kelsey’s many classes on our schedule which you can find here.
